Our Team
Dr. Grant Johnson
(Grant Johnson) I was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta. I’ve been practicing Optometry for the past 13 years. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary in 2006. Afterwards, I went on to earn my Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 2010. Since then, I practiced Optometry in Portland, Oregon and Victoria, British Columbia, before returning home to Central Alberta. I am passionate about providing comprehensive vision care for all ages. I have a particular interest in the detection and management of glaucoma and using new technologies to slow down the progression of myopia (aka nearsightedness) in children. In addition to my regular practice, I have also volunteered on international eye care trips to serve underprivileged populations. I was also the president of the Central Alberta Optometric Society from 2015 to 2019. I am currently a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
When I'm not at the clinic, I spend time with my family, camping, hiking, and golfing. I also love to travel and often find myself exploring other cities, trying to find the best food and coffee.
