Our Team

Dr. Laurie Permack
Dr. Laurie Permack received his doctorate in optometry at the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry. Prior to this, he earned his BSc with a major in biology from the University of Winnipeg.
While studying in the United States, Dr. Permack completed his studies by working across the U.S. in private and public teaching clinics. His experience includes rotations at a private practice in Colorado, where he focused on pediatric exams, and at a practice in North Carolina, where the concentration was on contact lenses, which included the use of innovative and revolutionary techniques. An additional rotation at the Newington Veteran Affairs Hospital in Connecticut has made him proficient at diagnosing and treating ocular disease and has given him experience in hospital-based optometry.
Dr. Permack also worked in the advanced care clinic at the Illinois Eye Institute, where he worked in the urgent care and glaucoma clinics and co-managed cataract patients with the staff ophthalmologist.
Dr. Permack has completed both the Canadian Assessment of Competency in Optometry and the American National Board of Optometry and is certified to work in Canada and the United States. He is also certified to use medications to treat ocular diseases, including glaucoma, dry eye, and eye infections.
